June 2019, Public Release

V8 Software: V8.2.24

Known Issues:

Issue 1 When logging DMA PIDs (i.e. PIDs whose names end with "_M" or "_DMA"), if the ignition is switched off for an extended period while data logging but data logging is not terminated, then when the ignition is switched on again the data log automatically continues. However the DMA PIDs may no longer return valid data.

Workaround: EFILive recommends stopping the data log and restarting the data log when switching off the ignition for extended periods.

Issue 2 When Black Box Logging PIDs from an ECM and TCM simultaneously and a PID is selected from the transmission controller (TCM) that has an identically named PID in the engine controller (ECM), (i.e. RPM) then when the log file is opened in the V8 software for viewing, the TCM PID will be displayed as if it originated from the ECM. The PID's data will have correctly been logged from the TCM, only its name will appear to indicate that it was logged from the ECM.

Workaround: None. It is a restriction of the *.efi (V7.5 log file format). That restriction will be removed and the TCM PIDs will display their true origin once the V8 scan tool software is available.

Build V8.2.24 Enhancements

  • The auth-codes used to validate VIN license purchases have been updated for compatibility with the new EFILive online store. Once the new online store is operational, all VIN license purchases will be validated before VIN Licenses can be added to a shopping cart (instead of after the payment).
  • Updated tune file security. Tune files created or re-saved with this version cannot be used with previous software or firmware versions.
  • The [F8: Tools] -> [F6: Bulk Files] can now update *.coz and *.ctz files that exist inside *.bbx files. Now you can bulk update your *.bbx files without recreating each *.bbx file.
  • Added warning to the BBX PID selection that shows when too many PIDs have been selected. The limit for black box logging is 128 PIDs. That limit includes all PIDs from both controllers, including calculated and external PIDs.
  • Added DMA PID support for new E98 operating systems.

Build V8.2.24 Bug Fixes

  • Fixed "Remote 2-byte Key" option not working when black box flashing.
  • Fixed "Integer Overflow" error when loading log files that contain stored trouble codes.
  • When a controller that does not support "Test Flashing" is flashed and the "Perform Test Flash Only" checkbox is disabled but still checked (from when it was enabled for a previous controller that does support test flashing), then the "Test Flash" warning dialog is displayed indicating that a test flash is about to be performed when in fact a real flash is about to be performed.
