Do you require VIN, OS, CVN details or other key data from your customer to generate correct tune files? Is managing inaccurate and incomplete data consuming too much valuable time? If you answered 'Yes', then adding the "Record All Diags" to your customer processes will help eliminate these issues.
Using FlashScan or AutoCal, the Record All Diags feature captures critical controller information into a single file that can be transmitted back to the tuner, removing keystroke errors from manually writing down data, or worse, customers leaving critical details blank. The file can be viewed using Windows Notepad.
To access the Record All Diags feature, connect your FlashScan or AutoCal device to your vehicle, and select the correct controller from the Select PIDs menu, then:
FlashScan: : F3 Diagnostics -> F4: Record All Diags. FlashScan will display a file name that will be saved onto the device.
If a controller is not selected in the Select PID's menu, users will be presented with the message: "Freeze frame data will not be recorded until a PID selection is made." Select OK for FlashScan to create the file without any freeze frame data.
AutoCal: The user must boot into the advanced menu (i.e. hold down [Next] button while powering up) and then navigate to: Trouble Codes -> Record Diags. AutoCal will display a file name that will be saved onto the device.
If a controller is not selected in the Select PID's menu, users will be presented with the message: "FF Data not rec." Select OK for AutoCal to create the file without any freeze frame data.
Once the file is saved, users should connect their FlashScan or AutoCal device to their PC, Open EFILive Explorer and navigate to the scan directory. The relevant file can then be transferred to PC and then opened or emailed to their tuner.
**NOTE: Record Diags was added to the AutoCal Simple Menu in the November 2016 public release.
