EFILive is pleased announce the first PC based tuner for 2014+ 2.8L Duramax (LWN) is now available in our August 13, 2015 Public pre-release software. This release commits key tuning parameters to deliver significant gains in performance with just tuning changes alone, as well as a comprehensive scan tool to allow customers to monitor all essential tuning data.
The 2.8L Duramax using the E98 ECM is due for North American release in the coming weeks in the Chevrolet Colorado, but has already been in use on a range of worldwide applications since 2014 including the Holden Colorado, South American S-10, and Chevrolet Colorado/Trailblazer in world wide applications. Both Manual and Automatic vehicles are supported, with the six speed automatic using the T43 controller. This ECM is also used in European Opel and Vauxhall 1.6L CDTi vehicles. A full list of supported vehicles can be found on our GM Diesel Supported Vehicles web page.
Like all new supported controllers, reading and flashing has been added to the EFILive V8 Scan and Tune software providing solutions for both pass-thru and BBX reading and flashing. Editing tuning parameters is available using the V7 Tune tool. Controller locking has also been implemented to prevent tune files from being read from the ECM by any tuning software, while still allowing ECM flashing with EFILive software. This is a free software update to all existing customers.
To access these features, customers must update their V8 and V7 software, along with their FlashScan V2/AutoCal firmware to our August 13, 2015 Public pre-release software (or later).
Development and innovation continues on this new platform, with additional software releases scheduled in the near future. As the industry leader of switchable on the fly tuning for Diesel ECM's since 2006, EFILive is now finalizing the implementation of DSP4 for the 2.8L Duramax with in vehicle testing scheduled to commence shortly.
