Do you backup your EFILive data? Backing up data creates exact copies of specific files that may be used to restore the original contents in the event of data loss.
Tuners should consider creating regular backups of their tune files, log files, and personalized content such as dashboards and calculated PID files, along with the EFILive license file. Backup files should be stored in a secure secondary location.
The EFILive license backup file is used in situations where you need to replace your FlashScan/AutoCal device, and is created/updated automatically during pass-through flashing. The backup license file can also be created on request by following the below steps:
- Connect your FlashScan V2 or AutoCal device to your PC.
- Open the EFILive Scan And Tune application.
- Select the [F7: Licenses] option in the left-hand pane.
- Click the Backup button.
- A file will be created in the My Documents\EFILive\V8\Backup folder, named XXXXXXXXXXXX.lbu.
The XXXXXXXXXXXX portion of the backup filename will be replaced with the Serial Number of your FlashScan V2 or AutoCal device.
